Osteoarthritis of the knee (case 2)

40-year-old patient who regularly practices sport presented with a history of meniscus surgery and anterior cruciate ligament surgery. The patient reported chronic knee pain that affected everyday activities and precluded participation in sporting activities.

After undergoing treatment for osteoarthritis of the knee, comprising the injection of 40 million bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, pain and joint function significantly improved both for everyday activities as well as for sport (volleyball, mountain climbing, etc.).

Two years after the study treatment, CartiGram magnetic resonance imaging confirmed cartilage regeneration in 20 of the 24 affected areas.
